Prof. Suraj Unniappan
Suraj is a full professor at the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. Research in his laboratory of integrative neuroendocrinology focuses on comparative endocrinology. He assumed the faculty director position in 2012, and advises the team on research and development at this unit.
Susan has been at the WCVM for more than 30 years. She obtained a Master of Science in Veterinary Physiology from the WCVM, and remained with Professor Norm Rawlings (former Endocrine Lab Director, and Associate Dean - Research) as a lab technician, and later as the lab manager. She witnessed the evolution and growth of the Endocrine Service Lab, and plays a major role in this facility. In 2008, Susan also became the WCVM building manager, helping to coordinate various repairs, shutdowns and renovations around the college.
Kim obtained her Medical Laboratory Technologist certificate from SIAST in 1992. After a lengthy career with the Canadian Blood Services, she joined the Endocrine Lab in 2005. Kim enjoys helping grad students with their research, and trains them on proper laboratory techniques to produce optimum results. When not in the lab, Kim finds happiness in cooking, gardening, yoga, and spending time with her friends and family, which include her grand-dog, Marshall.
Danielle Carriere joined the Endocrine Service Lab after completing her BSc in Toxicology at the University of Saskatchewan in 2016. She is eager to continue harnessing her skills and broadening her knowledge in order to better help current and future clients.
